Co-authors, Jami and Michele, were brought together by God’s purpose with a heart for teen girls from the east and west coasts to Louisiana. Michele’s years of teaching in private and public schools, Sunday school, and being a mother drew her towards teens, writing, and leading. Jami’s experience as a Girl Scout leader, Brownie leader, and mother attracted her to supporting and giving to teens as well. God brought them together and fanned their mutual desire to make a difference in the lives of teens.
During a Bible study Jami and Michele kept saying, “If we only knew then, what we know now.” Inspired by the idea of teaching a class for teens, Jami called Michele. She said, “What do you think about us teaching a teen class entitled, “Be A Queen, Not A Princess, The Crown Is Bigger?” Michele replied without hesitation, “I love it! Let’s do it!” Thus a ministry was born.
By merging their God-given talents and their combined years of corporate/educational experience, birthing a teen ministry was a natural for these women. That’s when they wrote teen girl books with accompanying teacher’s manuals for weekly classes.
Believing that teens and parents long for the concepts and vocabulary to talk to each other, their clear message met a dire need for families struggling to effectively communicate. “Everything we are encountering in our ministry confirms that our message is ultimately for the future leaders of teens; no matter what their age is now.”
We have a heart for teens...
